General questions about using CalculatorInvest tools, understanding results, and our data policies. For formulas and limitations, see Methodology and Data Sources.
Questions
Do I need an account to use CalculatorInvest?
No. All calculators and tools run in your browser. We do not require sign-up and do not store your investment inputs as personal financial records.
Where do prices come from?
Historical end-of-day (daily close) prices are obtained from third-party financial data providers such as Stooq and Yahoo Finance, then cached locally for fast performance. See our Data Sources page for full details.
What is CAGR?
CAGR (compound annual growth rate) is the annualized return over a period, as if the investment grew at a constant rate each year. It helps compare returns across different time spans.
Are stock splits and dividends included?
Treatment varies by asset and tool. Some calculators use price-only data; others may reflect splits or dividends where supported by the underlying data source. Check the specific calculator page and our Methodology page.
Does CalculatorInvest provide financial advice?
No. CalculatorInvest is an educational resource. Calculator and forecast outputs are estimates based on historical data and models — not recommendations to buy, sell, or hold any asset.
How often is market data updated?
Market data is refreshed on a regular schedule, typically daily, depending on provider availability and asset class. Prices are not real-time streaming quotes.
Are CalculatorInvest tools free to use?
Yes. Every calculator, historical tool, and forecast scenario is free to use in your browser. The site is supported by advertising, which never influences calculator logic or editorial content.
What do the forecast scenarios mean?
Forecast pages show hypothetical conservative, base, and optimistic paths built from historical behavior and transparent assumptions. They are educational illustrations of how outcomes could differ — not price targets, predictions, or guarantees of future results.
Why do my results differ from my broker or another calculator?
Differences usually come from the data source, the exact start and end dates, how dividends or splits are treated, and rounding. We use end-of-day prices and document our assumptions on the Methodology page so results are reproducible.
What currency are results shown in?
Unless a tool states otherwise, amounts are shown in US dollars (USD) and based on each asset's primary listing. Foreign-listed assets may be approximated; always confirm currency on the specific calculator page.
Do you store or sell my data?
No. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not saved as personal financial records or sold. See our Privacy Policy for details on analytics and cookies.
Can I use these results for tax filing or official reporting?
No. Outputs are educational estimates and may not match official statements. For tax, accounting, or regulatory reporting, rely on documents from your broker or a qualified professional.
